Tommy Bartlett
Senior Pastor
Tommy serves as the Senior Pastor here at MPBC.
Tommy grew up in the Sissonville, WV area. In 1969, His grandfather, Bill Bartlett, planted Maranantha Baptist Church in Sissonville, where Tommy served as youth pastor for several years. His father, Kevan Bartlett, is the current pastor. Tommy is a graduate of Elk Valley Christian School.
Tommy graduated from The Crown College of the Bible in Powell, TN. While at Crown, Tommy met his wife Jennifer. They were married on December 10, 2004. Tommy and Jennifer are proud parent of 4 children. Kolton, Karleigh, Konnor and Kinsleigh.
Tommy has lead in many ministries, such as the HomeBuilders young adult Bible study, Vacation Bible School, the discipleship Sunday School class, Pleasant Island Youth Camp, Judgment Island, and Men's Fellowship activities.

Chad Harris
Assistant Pastor
Chad serves as Assistant Pastor at Mt Pleasant.
Chad was born in Murfreesboro, TN in 1994. He attended Franklin Road Baptist Church and Christian School. He was saved in 2013 at Triple S Christian Ranch in Rosebud, AR, while working on camp staff.
Chad graduated from Crown College of the Bible in 2016. While at Crown, Chad met his wife Sara. They were married on June 20, 2015. Chad and Sara have two daughters, Alivia and Alayna.
Chad has been in full time ministry for 11 years. He has served in various ministry roles as well as teaching secondary Christian education for 10 years.
Chad is involved in many ministries, such as the Young Adult ministry, Daily Living Sunday School class, Pleasant Island Youth Camp, Brother’s in Christ Men’s Bible Study, and various others.
Chad’s desire is for individuals and families in the Elkview community to come to know Christ as Savior, be biblically discipled, and for them to become active servants for Christ in the local church.

Hunter Mick
Ministry Assistant
Hunter Serves as the Ministry Assistant here at MPBC.
Hunter grew up in the Elkview, WV area and has called Mt. Pleasant his home church for almost 15 years.
Hunter graduated from The Crown College of the Bible in Powell, TN in 2020 and has been serving at MPBC since that time. Hunter met his wife Jennifer while serving here at Mt. Pleasant They were married on December 12th 2025. Hunter and Jennifer are proud parents of 2 children Kaylee and Alleigha.
Hunter helps lead in various ministries through out our church such as the Youth group, teaching High school Sunday school, Leading our Jr. Church, Vacation Bible School, Pleasant Island Youth Camps, Judgement Island, Easter play, Media team, our website and tech team, and coordination of church events.

Lee Swor
Pastor Emeritus 1986-2026
Lee Swor was born in Montgomery, West Virginia in 1952. He graduated from Montgomery High School in 1969. He grew up in Montgomery Baptist Church and was saved at Camp Cowen in 1963. He attended Boomer Baptist Church during his teen years.
Pastor Swor felt God’s call to preach as a teenager while listening to a Billy Graham crusade on TV. Through the advice of Pastor James Ford, he went to Tennessee
Temple in Chattanooga, TN to prepare for the ministry. It was there that he met his wife, Anita. She is from Glen Fork, West Virginia. They were married in 1972 and both graduated from Tennessee Temple University.
Pastor Lee has been in full time ministry since 1975. He pastored Bolt Fundamental Baptist Church from 1975 - 1981. He was pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Belva, WV from 1981 - 1986. He is thankful for the people and experiences in these churches that prepared him for his current ministry. He served at Senior Pastor from 1986 to 2026. He is grateful for the more than 50 years of ministry God has given him, and for the wonderful people at Mt. Pleasant.
Pastor Lee and Anita are the proud parents of five children. They are grateful for God’s blessings on their marriage and family. Their children are: Lisa Lawrence and her husband James; Michelle Evans and her husband Brian; David and his wife Alycen; Mary Beth Slabbert and her husband Johannes; Sarah Burch and her husband Bryce. Anita, in addition to being a wonderful mother, is an elementary school teacher. Pastor Swor and Anita are also the very proud grandparents of granddaughters Kaitlyn, Madelyn, Avery, Vivienne, Lindsey, Audrey, Victoria, Annelise, Lauren, Vera, and Hailey and grandsons J.D, Levi, Hendrik, Leland, Joshua, and Billy.
